The below methodology was applied to assess the wheelchair accessibility of hospitality and accommodation facilities, public buildings, tourist attractions and other services (transportation, etc.) and preparing trip suggestions,. Wheelchair accessibility and suggested trips were determined based on wheelchair users’ own experiences.

In order to assess the wheelchair accessibility of tourist attractions (such as chateaux, museums and castles), the “Methodology for Assessing the Wheelchair Accessibility of Buildings” was partially applied; however, the methodology itself does not address the accessibility of tourist attractions. Therefore, three-level assessment system for buildings was applied and adjusted based on individual criteria and on-site findings:

The colour symbols indicate the level of difficulty:
Blue trails – Designated for physically fit wheelchair users, wheelchair users with assistance, handbikes and electric wheelchairs. The routes follow paved surfaces with an 8% maximum grade, a minimum width of 1.8 m and stairs with a maximum rise of 2 cm.
Red trails – Designated for physically fit wheelchair users, wheelchair users with assistance, handbikes and electric wheelchairs. The routes follow paved surfaces with a 6%, occasionally 12% maximum grade, a minimum width of 1.2 m and stairs with a maximum rise of 5 cm.Black trails – Designated for wheelchair users with assistance and field electric wheelchairs. Routes can follow paths that can get muddy when it rains; grades up to 12%, occasionally up to 20%, the minimum width of paths in flat sections is 1 m, stairs have a maximum rise of 7 cm.
