What can be seen along the way
The trip starts at the main train station in Desná on cycle route 3019 and continues around the neo-Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary 3 km to Bílá Desná. Waterfalls on Bílá Desná There are both cascades and waterfalls on the river Bílá Desná. You will see two waterfalls with a height of 2 and 2.5 meters and a cascade 3.5 meters high.
Ruptured dam First you come to the view of the former height of the level of the Ruptured Dam. After 2.2 km you will come to the remains of the Ruptured Dam. The ruptured dam was built in 1915 to regulate the flow. On September 18, 1916, however, the water seeped through the dam and the dam burst. 62 people died under water and 100 houses in Desná were hit. At the Protržená dam memorial, continue along cycle route No. 3020 "By riding route" 2 km to the crossroads. From here, you can shorten your trip to Desná on the road around Souš.
Souš reservoir The waterworks was built in the years 1911 - 1915 on the river Černá Desná and serves primarily to accumulate water for the regional water supply, but also to mitigate large waters. The treated water from this reservoir supplies Jablonec nad Nisou and Tanvald. If you do not want to shorten your trip, continue 2.3 km to the next crossroads, where you will connect to the "Prince's Road" and later to the "Hřebenovka" - a blue tourist sign. After 4 km you will cross a red tourist sign that will take you to the waterfalls in Černá Desná.
Waterfalls on Černá Desná The Černá Desná river is a natural monument and there are real waterfalls. Four of them are called Pot, Beech, Long and Plate. From the waterfalls you descend to the town of Desná to the train station Desná Riedlova vila. The road to the destination station is 4.5 km long.
